Arcadia is a hilly landscape in the center of the Peloponnese. Even in ancient Greece, the lonely area with its few shepherds was considered an idyll, a lost paradise. The concert of the Amatis Trio presents very different places of longing. «La Fontaine d'Arethuse» from Karol Szymanowski's cycle «Myths» op. 30 tells of the transformation of the nymph Arethusa into a spring. The Andante molto semplice from Rebecca Clarke's Piano Trio and the Elegy No. 2 for cello and piano by Franz Liszt are characterized by nostalgia and melancholy. But also a bright place of longing such as the folkloristically tinged Rondo all'Ongarese from Joseph Haydn's G major Trio ("Gypsy Trio") or a space marked by passion such as Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's Piano Trio No. 2 in C minor are discovered. The concert is embedded in the exhibition "Myths and Legends" (vernissage 27.7.) with works by the Graubünden artist Patrick Devonas, who will also be on site. The exhibition can be visited after the concert.
