Silva Buol: «Acqua» – Aquarelle, Fotos, Wasserwege. Genua

The Swiss artist Silvia Buol, born in Chur in 1954, is a dance performer and artist who deals with the topography of spaces, the physicality of landscapes and the reinterpretation of visual axes.

In Silvia Buol – Acqua. Watercolors, photos, waterways. In Genoa, she documents her preoccupation with fountains, aqueducts, water movements and the sea in and around the port city of Genoa with photographs and works on paper. In this way, she succeeds in creating an archaeology of unfamiliar perspectives and new models of thought. She has also invited artist and author friends from Genoa and Switzerland to write short texts on the subject of water.

The result is a subjective promenadology on the subject of water and its paths in Genoa: it is about walks and pauses, romantic fountains and rock formations formed by the surf, brick pavements, coloured container ships and the flight of seagulls.
