"Sole Azul" pulls out the tango at the roots and plants it in the Nordic frost. No wonder, as "Sole Azul" features three highly esteemed musicians at work, who belong to the top of the jazz scene and cavort in various other styles. The group draws on the style of jazz and plays both tango-inspired originals and new arrangements of existing tangos. The result is a fascinating melange of tango and jazz.

Bandleader and accordionist Harri Kuusijärvi moves dreamily through various "pigeonholes" from jazz to prog rock to world music. He has been on tour in Germany several times, most recently with singer Jaakko Laitinen. Pauli Lyytinen is one of Finland's leading saxophonists, he also likes to dive into musically freer realms and let it rip, e.g. with Raoul Björkenheim or his Magnetic Orchestra. Eero Tikkanen is one of the most sought-after double bass players on the Finnish jazz scene.

Her debut album "Quasi Tango" was released on February 8, 2019. Another album followed in 2024 - with which Sole Azul is now going on tour.
