SUS Dry Stone Wall Week

This week, organized by Stiftung Umwelteinsatz, offers you the opportunity to discover the art of dry stone masonry in beautiful surroundings. The project involves the renovation of simple dry stone walls with minimal stone processing. You will receive tips on planning, materials and tool use. Over the centuries, numerous dry stone walls have been built in the region. Much of this cultural heritage has been preserved - albeit in poor condition. The walls tell of the ancient coexistence between man and nature in this region. In addition to their cultural and historical importance, the dry stone walls are of enormous ecological value, as these stone structures represent a precious habitat for various plants and animals.
