Tannätag und Waldbaden in Valzeina

Do you like the scent of fir so much? Do you like to be in nature and get involved in a good cause? Then Tannatag is the right place for you!

Together with a forester, we plant silver firs and other trees and learn why silver fir is so valuable for nature and for our future.


After the work is done, we enjoy a cozy lunch in a convivial atmosphere. In the afternoon we go forest bathing: We experience the magic of the forest with a nature educator and exciting exercises from the tradition of forest bathing. Forest bathing is the Japanese recreation with Shinrin Yoku. We refine self-awareness and relax and decelerate. The healing effect of the forest supports us in this.

The Tanna Day is a participatory project of the WWF Graubünden that promotes climate-resilient forests, forest biodiversity and the silver fir in a targeted manner. Foresters and forest wardens work hand in hand with volunteers: together they plant climate-adapted or rare tree and shrub species, maintain forest edges and build individual shooters - for nature, for our forests, for society.

Program:

Nicole Ackermann, WWF head of operations, and Hanspeter Thöny, district forester, pick us up at Grüsch station. Together we go to the scene, where Hanspeter explains the work to us. We are busy planting the trees until noon. We enjoy the well-deserved lunch together on site. Afterwards we go forest bathing.

Good footwear, surefootedness in rough terrain

Catering:

The WWF offers lunch, but please bring your own snacks and sufficient drinks. Please indicate vegetarian / vegan / meat when registering.

What to take with you/equipment:

Stable mountain boots (above ankle height with good tread), gloves (if you have), clothing adapted to the weather, sun protection (sunscreen, sun hat), snacks, sufficient drinks, personal medication.

Performance:

Information about the definitive implementation will be provided by e-mail no later than the day before (Friday, 18 October).
