The Elaloch - natural spectacle

Legend has it that a cheeky young man once enraged the devil so much that he angrily threw a boulder at him. He narrowly missed the young man and the boulder made a big hole in the ridge at Piz Ela. Since then, people have been admonished to reverence every year when the sun shines through it. Thanks to the young man, this natural spectacle can be observed annually on 25 and 26 February as well as on 15 and 16 October in some places in the municipality of Bergün/Bravuogn. Good observation locations are the Hotel Piz Ela and the school building. It is recommended to wear solar observation glasses for observation.
