Vivaldi - Mozart
Antonio Vivaldi was one of the few Baroque composers to use the clarinet.
The concert focuses on Mozart's Clarinet Quintet in the version with organ.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart completed the Clarinet Quintet on
September 29, 1789; it is one of the most beautiful "Freundesgaben" in music history.
Mozart loved the clarinet because of its timbre, which is similar to that of the singing voice.
René Oswald plays the clarinet quintet in the original version for the basset clarinet in A major, the so-called Mozart clarinet.
