Details
Description
The first stage of the hike starts in Vrin/Puzzatsch. After a short section on the natural road, the path winds past the alpine barns of Tegia Sut up to Pass Diesrut. Steeper sections alternate with gentler ascents. Shortly after the pass height, the view opens onto the wide Greina plain with its meandering river. When descending into the plain, you cross the 65-meter-long and 40-meter-high suspension bridge over the Rein da Sumvitg, an unforgettable highlight of the route. After the bridge, a path continues to the Terrihütte, where the first stage can ideally be rounded off with an overnight stay.
The next day, the route leads from the Terrihütte over Crest la Greina to Runcahez. The descent is partly more demanding but rewards with impressive and varied landscape. Chains are installed in rocky sections to provide additional safety. Down in the valley, the path follows the Rein da Sumvitg to Alp da Tenigia, before leading over a bridge and a gravel road to the reservoir in Runcahez. There is also the Bus Alpin stop for the return journey.
Attention: Road closure in Val Sumvitg
Due to a landslide in the section near Acla Mulin, the road from Acla Mulin has been closed to all traffic. The Bus Alpin Val Sumvitg runs from/to the replacement stop (Suspension Bridge - Acla Mulin). This extends the hiking time by about 40 minutes towards Greina. Pedestrians have access to the rear Val Sumvitg as well as to the Greina high plateau at any time via the Acla Mulin suspension bridge.
The duration of the closure is currently unknown.
Hidden Gem
Lunch at the Terrihütte? That is possible. Well-trained hikers can also undertake this route in one day. The Bus alpin schedules are designed accordingly. However, be sure to consult the Bus alpin schedules and reserve your seat.
Safety Note
In uncertain weather conditions, the route should not be started. Weather changes in the mountains are common. If a rain front or similar approaches during the hike, you should turn back in time.
