Description

From Sedrun we roll over a stately bridge to the other side of the Rhine and into Val Nalps. On the road of the Vorderrhein power plants, it goes along the Rein da Nalps.

Then the climb begins: In ten hairpin bends we work our way steadily up to the highest point above the Nalps reservoir. The continuation along the lake takes place on an old tank track that has seen better days.

At the alpine hut at the end of the lake, we turn around and ride back to just before the tunnel. From here we follow the old alpine path on the right side of the valley – partly wet and bumpy, but scenic.

At the seasonal mountain pastures of Pardatsch da Vaccas, the path becomes more pleasant again. Over well-ridable forest roads we reach Cavorgia – and end the route with a well-deserved jump into the refreshing water of Lag da Claus.

Note:

Due to construction work in Val Nalps, increased truck traffic is to be expected on weekdays. Please drive carefully and be considerate – especially on sections with limited visibility.

Directions

We follow the cantonal road to the junction to Surrein. After the bridge, turn right up into the village. Now we stay on the road to the end of the reservoir.

On the same route back, just before the tunnel, turn right onto an alpine path. In Pardatsch, we meet a forest road again. At the next junction turn right again. We reach another road. Turn left here. Now the road leads to Cavorgia and back to Sedrun.
