Etappe 5: Sardonahütte – Elm, 73.05 Sardona-Welterbe-Weg

The first section leads back to the Heubützli Pass, which was already climbed on the fifth stage. From here, the view sweeps again to the Gigerwald reservoir, the Sardona glacier and the Chli glacier. The moraine forests suggest that these glaciers were much thicker and longer 150 years ago. Continue over the Muotatalsattelin towards Foopass at 2223 m above sea level, where the long descent to Elm begins. If you look back at the Tschingelhörner in the evening at a leisurely dinner, a hole – the mystical Martinsloch – is recognizable. Twice a year, the sun's rays hit the church of Elm through the 18-meter-high Martinsloch - an unforgettable nature experience. Alternatively, the Tschinglen-Alp is an ideal place to spend the night.
