Description

From Pontresina station, take the marked path, which winds itself up Val Roseg, whilst keeping the river on your right. Crossing the bridge before reching Hotel Roseg Gletscher, the valley suddenly opens up with an awe inspiring vista. Take the track heading on up the valley which leads to a small path, which zigzags up to the moraine and onto Lej da Vadret. Take a break to enjoy the crystal glacial lake and the vibrant alpine flowers before heading up the rocky single-track to the junction with Chamanna Coaz. If you feel like a proper respite take the short detour to the hut, otherwise cruise along the gently undulating contouring path towards Fuorcla Surlej with its big views of Piz Bernina and Lej da Vadret far below. After another snack stop, it’s time to enjoy the meandering descent with new views over the glistening Engadin lakes. You feel as though you are flying as you approach Lej dals Chöds, before darting under the tree line and descending to St. Moritz. Finish off by Lej da San Murezzan and dip your legs into the refreshing stream as a cool-down.
