Description
This scenic circular route starts directly at the Berghotel Schönhalden on the Flumser Kleinberg. Quietly, you soon pass the stables of Alp Wildenberg below the Guscha. In the summer, around 100 cows and young cattle are looked after on the 190 hectares of pasture – now on the other side of the busy Flumserberg ski area, you will find peace and a winter idyll. And the view over the Sarganserland – wonderful! The path gently rises across open terrain until the Alp Gampergalt is reached. The alpine building there belongs to Alp Wildenberg. Time and again, the path opens up to views over the Flumserberge, into the picturesque Schilstal to the west, and to the nearby Churfirsten. Majestic are the jagged peaks that plunge almost vertically into Lake Walensee to the south.
Secluded and more or less flat, the route then runs over snowfields and sometimes through forests. Once Rosewald is reached, it goes downhill over snow-covered meadows.
