Gampergalt Trail

This scenic round trip starts directly at the Berghotel Schönhalden on the Flumser Kleinberg. On quiet soles you soon pass the stables of alp Wildenberg below the Guscha. On the 190 hectares of pasture, a good 100 cows and galt cattle are cared for in summer – now you can find silence and winter idyll on the other side of the lively Flumserberg ski area. And the view over the Sarganserland – wonderful! Over open terrain, the path climbs gently until finally the Alp Gampergalt is reached. The alpine building there belongs to Alp Wildenberg. Again and again the view opens up on the way over to the Flumserbergen, into the picturesque Schilstal in the west and to the nearby Churfirsten. The jagged spikes that dive almost vertically into Lake Walen in the south look majestic.

Secluded and more or less flat, the tour then runs over snowfields and at times through forests. Reaching the Rosewald, it goes downhill over snowy meadows.
