Description

Immediately after the start in Ilanz, the first crisp ascent on the gravel road to Flond begins. Less steep it then continues on forest and forest paths to Surcuolm and finally up to the Graubünden Rigi. After this feat of strength of almost 1000 meters in altitude, it is worthwhile to recharge your batteries on the sun terrace of the restaurant of the same name and to enjoy the unique view of the Rhine Gorge and the surrounding mountains. After the well-deserved rest, the route leads through the forest and over open terrain down to the original villages of Morissen and Vella. Here begins the second and very beautiful ascent, past the bathing lake Davos Munts, over the mountain pastures of the Val Lumnezia up to the highest point of the tour, the Alp Nova. From here you can enjoy the long descent down to the valley floor. Once there, you roll along the Vorderrhein back to the starting point in Ilanz.

In case of uncertain weather conditions, the tour should not be started. Weather changes in the mountains are frequent. If a rain front or similar comes up during the tour, you should turn back in time.
