Heidiland Hiking Tour 6: Pizol - Bad Ragaz

The last stage of the Heidiland hiking tour is characterized by fantastic views over the Sarganserland, Rhine Valley and the Bündner Herrschaft with Heidi's alpine and mountain world behind it. From the ford you hike downhill towards Maienberg. At Garschlu, you leave the path in a sharp left-hand bend. After passing the Berghotel and Restaurant Schönbühl, you hike through dense forest before the panorama opens up again in the direction of Vilterser Sonnenberg. Again and again you pass small bridges during the descent, in total there are seven of them. After the Sonnenberg, the last stretch runs through loose mixed forest and soon the ruins of Freudenberg come into view on the left, one of the largest castles in the region, which lies sublimely on a hill. Shortly afterwards you reach the world health resort of Bad Ragaz. At the end of the Heidiland hiking tour, you can linger comfortably in one of the numerous cafés or relax comfortably in the healing thermal water of the Tamina Therme.

An overnight stay in Bad Ragaz at the end of the tour is highly recommended. Let yourself be pampered in one of several wellness oases in the health resort, enjoy the culinary variety or visit the Graubünden dominion just on the other side of the Rhine with the Heidi village in Maienfeld and the wide vineyard landscape.
