Description

Mittelbünden (Central Grisons) is considered the unknown beauty of the Grisons. Many know the Schanfigg and the Prättigau Valley from passing through, but here lie some of the mountainbike gems of Graubünden. On the three-day Hüttentour through the alpine mountain world of Central Grisons, two of the most extraordinary mountain huts are approached: the Berghaus Heimeli in the Walser village of Sapün and the Berghaus Sulzfluh, which is nestled sweetly in the impressive landscape below the Sulzfluh. But the route also has class when it comes to trails. Thanks to the section from Medergen to Sapün, the Durannapass with the descent to Küblis and the stretch from Stelser lake down into Prättigau, three very big but little-known trail highlights of Graubünden are on the plan.

Starting place: The Hüttentour Mittelbünden starts in Tschiertschen. Ideally, you travel by car or public transport to Chur and get from there by post bus to Tschiertschen. Mountainbikes can be taken along without any problems, each post bus has a rear rack for up to five bikes.

Requirements: The Hüttentour Mittelbünden is a three-day mountainbike tour in the region between Chur, Arosa and Davos. The ascents are primarily mastered under one‘s own power and lead over well rideable paths. The sections from Chur to Tschiertschen and from Küblis to St. Antönien are covered by post bus. The descents are mainly on singletrails that can be ridden smoothly, but experience in alpine mountainbiking is an advantage. On the Hüttentour, all luggage for three days is in the backpack, no luggage transport is possible. However, the selected huts have hotel standard.

E-Mountainbike: The Hüttentour Mittelbünden is also easily doable with the e-mountainbike. However, experience in battery management is necessary to reach the stage destination with one charge. In the huts are sockets available to charge the battery. However, it is important to bring your own charger.
