From the monastery village of Disentis/Mustér, this stage leads through small farming villages, and past the Sogn Giachen chapel in Cuoz, which was built by the Brotherhood of St. James. On the mountain path, you can enjoy the view of the Vorderrhein, which winds through the valley. You cross the 120-metre-long railway viaduct at Bugnei.

Description

From the monastery village of Disentis, you soon reach the small Sogn Giachen chapel in Cuoz, the first place of worship on this section, which is dedicated to St. James and was built by the Brotherhood of St. James. An easy path leads past the pretty Walser village of Segnas and along the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn railroad line via Bugnei to Sedrun.

Information: The signposted Graubünden Way of St. James No. 43 currently ends in Disentis. A continuation to the Oberalp Pass is planned. There is a connection to the Rhine-Reuss-Rhone route in Disentis.

Directions

From Disentis railroad station, first head towards the village church, then turn left after the church. Turn right again at the Wollkarderei and continue to the sports center. From there, follow the main road to the junction for Cuoz. In the village of Buretsch, turn right to Segnas (access road). In Segnas, take hiking trail no. 85 to Sedrun.
