On a signpost in the Puschlav we came across: Sentiero – a place name that sounds like an adventure. But where is this mysterious Sentiero located? On our search we encounter great singletrails and wonderful places. But we have a companion on the way: the strange feeling of having misunderstood something.

Description

The San Romerio route starts at the Bernina Pass just above the station. A varied singletrail leads down on the south side, you cross the road and climb a few meters up. From there, top-class fun is guaranteed – all the way down to San Carlo. On the way you pass La Rösa and always follow the trails specially prepared for mountain bikers. In San Carlo the long climb to San Romerio awaits. You climb a small road up to Cruvera and shortly thereafter reach the signposted mountain bike route, which you follow all the way to San Romerio. The excellent Rifugio is the ideal place for a (late) lunch break. Two options are available for the descent. The direct route to Caneu at Lago di Poschiavo is very demanding but a worthwhile route for good riders. Less technically skilled riders follow the alpine road for a piece and turn right at the first opportunity. In a mix of trails and small roads, you reach Miralago at Lago di Poschiavo. Here you take the train back to the Bernina Pass.
