Details
Description
From Lavin station, go through the village down to the Inn bridge. Immediately after crossing the Inn, the path turns left. Through a small woodland, you reach the wide plains by the Inn. Then the path continues with slight ascents and descents back into the forest and below Giarsun the Inn is crossed again. The last section leads through the hamlet of Giarsun and finally to Guarda station.
Hidden Gem
On the opposite side of the valley is the highest Lower Engadine mountain, Piz Linard. Above the railway line, the ruins of Gonda can be seen.
Safety Note
The path is prepared after every snowfall. Please observe the condition reports in the winter sports report. The route was rated under favourable weather conditions, current snow and weather conditions must be checked before starting.
Attention: The path partly runs on cross-country ski tracks – please walk at the edge of the tracks.

- Walk through Giarsun and continue to Guarda station

- By the Rhaetian Railway (from Chur, Landquart/Prättigau, from Upper Engadine or Scuol) hourly to Lavin
Travel Information
- From the north: via Landquart – Klosters by car shuttle through the Vereina tunnel (Selfranga - Sagliains) or via the Flüela Pass into the Lower Engadine on H27
- From the east: via Landeck/Austria towards St. Moritz on H27
- From the south: via Reschen Pass (Nauders-Martina) or Ofen Pass (Val Müstair-Zernez) on H27
Lavin is located directly on the Engadine road H27 (5 minutes driving time from the Vereina south portal)
