Description
This multi-day cross-country tour starts in the tranquil Lower Engadine village of Lavin. Goal? Run from here to Maloja in the Upper Engadine, where around 14,000 participants start the legendary Engadin Skimarathon on the second weekend in March. 69 kilometers and 720 meters of altitude difference are on the plan, whereby you can adjust the number of stages as you like or get on the Rhaetian Railway in between.
After the start in Lavin, the trail leads to Zernez along the Inn. At Susch and just before Zernez you have to take off your skis briefly and walk a few minutes to the next cross-country ski trail entrance. After Zernez, the trail follows about 14 kilometers mostly through the forest. Enjoy the peace and quiet and the snowy winter forest. From S-chanf you can run more or less on the original route of the Engadin Skimarathon. The only exception: At Samedan you walk up via Celerina on the dream trail through the Stazerwald. The highlights to the finish in Maloja: Stazerwald, typical Engadine villages decorated with sgraffiti decorated houses and the beautiful cross-country ski run over the frozen Engadine lakes. Especially here you have to hope for tailwind.
