Description

The route leads from Maienberg into the deepest gorge of the Valeistobel, which separates the Ragaz and Wangs sides of the Pizol ski and hiking area. With a duration of about half an hour, it is especially suitable for short and spontaneous bike trips and can be well combined with other bike routes at Pizol.

Hidden Gem

The restaurant Schönbühl is the self-proclaimed Cordon Bleu king of the Sarganserland.

Directions

With the Pizolbahn, we travel within a few minutes from Wangs to the middle station Maienberg. The route begins with a very gentle and easy ascent to the mountain inn Schönbüel. We then continue along the forest path to the deepest gorge of the Valeistobel. A wide forest road then leads us to Narrenberg and past the lake on Vilters municipal land. The further descent first takes place over a short road section and then down a simple trail to the village of Vilters.

Public Transport

By train to Sargans, then by bus to the Wangs bus stop, Pizolbahn directly at the valley station Wangs. From there by gondola to the middle station Maienberg.

Travel Information

Take the Sargans motorway exit, then follow the signs to the valley station of the Pizolbahnen in Wangs.

Public parking spaces are available at the valley station Bad Ragaz (fee required).
