Description
In the municipality of Sagogn grow 27 of the total of 73 different, wild-growing orchid species in Switzerland . Part of this extraordinary variety grows on the edge of the forest paths. At the Senda d'Orchideas (Orchid Trail) in Sagogn, between the middle of May and the beginning of August, a variety of different orchid species bloom again and again. Above all, the women's shoes and the red Waldvögelein are known. About every two weeks different species bloom, so that the hike can be undertaken several times. The ascent through the bizarre Val Mulin is a special experience. Two fireplaces invite you to bbq.
The orchids are strictly protected, no picking!
Hidden Gem
The women's shoes (in the eastern loop) bloom at the end of May.
Bring sausages and grill in one of the two fireplaces and enjoy.
Safety Note
There is no picking! The orchids are strictly protected.
