Description

The hike starts at the busstop Prätschli. A wonderful hike leads firstly through a dreamy spruce forest to the middle station of the Arosa - Weisshorn gondola. From the calm of the forest you will now get right into the skiing area, which presents itself in summer as green meadows with grazing cows. The hike can be continued to the Schwellisee lake or via the Tschuggen hut down to the mountain chapel and to the village. If you would rather not hike uphill, you have the possibility to shorten the path by using the first section of the Arosa - Weisshorn gondola.

Public Transport

The Rhaetian Railway leaves Chur to Arosa and back at hourly intervals. The local bus brings you frequently to Prätschli - the starting point of the tour. The final destination is right at the bus stop Gada, from where you can reach the train station by bus.

Anreise Information

Once you arrive in Chur, follow the sign posts to Arosa and turn right at the entrance of the village (next to the petrol station).

Parking

As there are only a limited amount of parking spaces available at Prätschli, we recommend to leave the car at the car park Ochsenbühl (after the Sports and Conference Centre on the left).

The Arosa Bear Sanctuary is a unique experience for young and old visitors and is located right next to the middle station of the Arosa Weisshorn cable car.

There are bears that are rescued from poor keeping conditions that are given a species-appropriate home. Bears that previously had to live in tiny, dirty cages are being freed from this unfortunate situation by FOUR PAWS and brought to Arosa. In the middle of the natural mountain landscape with pastures, bushes, rocks, streams and forests, the bears can overcome their severe behavioral problems and finally learn natural behavior. And you as a visitor can watch them do it. On the bear platform of the Arosa Bear Sanctuary, you will not only learn the stories of the bears but also learn a lot of exciting things about the biology of bears.

The bear minigolf, the adventure playground at the middle station, the Weisshorn Bear and the Bärenland adventure trail also delight. Bears' hunger can be satisfied in the Brüggerstuba restaurant right next door.

And by the way: dogs (on a leash) are also very welcome in the Arosa Bear Sanctuary!

The Bergkirchli is the oldest church in the Grisons holiday resort of Arosa and also its oldest surviving building. It is located in Innerarosa on the path between the Schanfigger Museum of Local History and the Tschuggen, directly at the valley station of the Carmenna chairlift at 1900 m above sea level.
