Description

The Sentisch Horn route is a relatively easy ski tour that can often still have very attractive conditions in spring.

From Tschuggen, the ascent first follows the pass road briefly to Wägerhus. Here you leave the road and the route leads through the relatively flat couloir up to a small plateau towards Bardillen Boden. Upon arrival, it continues south along a flat route through the hollow. Then the route goes through the Tälli, where you then approach the summit of the Sentisch Horn from the northwest. Before the descent, a stunning panorama awaits you on the summit plateau.

Hidden Gem

After the route, the Gasthaus zum Tschuggen is recommended for some refreshment.

Safety Note

Those who go off the slopes do so entirely at their own risk and are outside the liability area of the mountain railways. The yellow-marked freeride slopes are secured but not groomed and not controlled. They may only be used when open. We recommend checking the open slopes, the SLF avalanche bulletin, and the weather forecast. All liability is excluded.

This freeride route is to be understood as a general directional guide. Depending on conditions, descent routes must be assessed and adjusted independently. No guarantee can be given for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of the information provided.

Freeride sport in open terrain is done at your own risk. Every freerider and ski tourer is strongly advised to prepare thoroughly, plan routes, and obtain up-to-date information on snow and avalanche conditions. Avalanche report and snow info: www.slf.ch

Any liability for accidents resulting from the use of the published information and route details is declined.

In case of doubt, accompaniment by experienced mountain guides is strongly recommended: www.bergfuehrer-davosklosters.ch

Equipment

We recommend the avalanche training center before departure.

On Jakobshorn near the Fuxägufer mountain station in Davos, the correct use of the avalanche transceiver (LVS) can be practiced under realistic conditions. The training area consists of a 100 x 100 m zone in moderately steep terrain and thus represents a realistic avalanche cone. The use of the training area is free of charge. Own LVS and avalanche probe must be brought along.
