Description
Starting directly from the village square in S-charl, proceed in a northeast direction. Always follow the alpine road alongside the stream "Aua da Sesvenna" to reach the idyllic Alp Sesvenna. This is staffed during the summer grazing season. From the alp, choose the lower hiking trail over the alp pastures and the stream to the entrance of Val Sesvenna. Along the wild stream «Aua da Sesvenna», the path leads through sparse larch forests up the valley across several flower-rich meadows to the valley bottom. The path then climbs significantly steeper to the pass «Fuorcla Sesvenna». On the right side rises the mighty Piz Sesvenna with the glacier of the same name. With the Sesvenna hut in view, you now enter the meadows shaped Valle di Slingia. The Sesvenna hut is staffed in summer and offers overnight accommodations. Over the Schlinig Pass, return to Switzerland, past Alp Sursass to the narrow entrance to the rock path «Il Quar». The approximately 600-meter-long path blasted into the steep rock wall was constructed in the early twentieth century as access to the Pforzheimer Hut. Already on the rock path, the view opens to Val d'Uina, where you now descend. The Alp Uina Dadaint is staffed and invites you to refresh for the remaining section of the route, which now leads again on a forest road out of the valley. At Sur En, directly at the valley exit, there are refreshment options as well as connections to the PostBus line via Sent to Scuol.
