Description

From the village square, the path leads slightly downhill to Lake Sufnersee. At the junction, take the path north and hike along Lake Sufner to the dam wall. Information boards of the Hinterrhein power plants offer the opportunity to find out about the company's plants. Arriving at the dam wall, the path turns south. Follow the path and enjoy the view of Lake Sufner in bright sunshine.

At the end of the Sufnersee, the trail goes up through the Göriwald forest to Panell. The last part of the hike leads from Panell via Fugschtwald to the Splügen Pass road. Next to the Splügen Pass road, the hiking trail runs to the village of Splügen. Splügen is considered one of the oldest and most typical pass villages in Graubünden. In 1995 it was awarded the coveted Wakker Prize by the Swiss Heritage Society. The Rheinwald Museum of Local History focuses on the history of transit traffic over the Splügen and San Bernardino Alpine passes.

Any hiking trail closures/restrictions or diversions can be found here.
