Description

You can reach the stop Süsom Givè on the Ofenpass (Pass dal Fuorn, 2149 m a.s.l.) by PostAuto, which is the starting point of the hike. Passing the transmitting mast on the southeast side of the mountain “Il Jalet”, you climb a steep path up to the saddle between Jalet and Piz Daint. At Davo Plattas (2289 m a.s.l.) we then take the turnoff up to Piz Daint. Now a climb of a full 600 meters of altitude awaits to Piz Daint. The last 300 meters of altitude lead along the west ridge of Piz Daint with a view to Val Mora and the Ortler massif. Once at Piz Daint (2968 m a.s.l.), the view opens with a breathtaking panorama down into Val Müstair. Via the west ridge of Piz Daint you reach the high plateau Jufplaun, where alpine ibex are not uncommon to be seen. Passing Döss da las Plattas (2297 m a.s.l.) and along the lush pastures of Buffalora we hike down to Alp Buffalora. After a refreshment at the Berggasthaus Buffalora, you can continue with an hourly PostAuto connection or after a short climb return to Süsom Givè, the starting point of the hike.
