Description

The RhB takes you up to the start of the Top to Bottom 2.0 Tour on the Bernina Pass. The challenging Poschiavino Trail is the first to be tackled. It owes its name to the Poschiavino River, which accompanies the trail again and again and has its source at the impressive I Gessi limestone formations. After the limestone mountains, the route leads through the Val Laguné to the entrance of the Val di Camp. From Angeli Custodi, it's just a roll-out to the piazza in Poschiavo, where a gelato or pizza awaits. The second part starts again on the Bernina Pass. The RhB also takes you up from Poschiavo (cycle carriages on the regional trains). The second descent through the Val Bernina is less steep. Via the easy Lago Bianco, Bernina, Arlas and Alp Bondo trails, you reach the pass road at Mortaratsch via the moderately difficult Morteratsch Trail. Up a hairpin bend and to the start of the Montebollo Trail, which takes you to Pontresina.

Observation Tower Valposchiavo

Cavaglia

Cavaglia is the ideal starting point for numerous excursions on foot or by mountain bike in unspoiled nature. You can't miss a visit to the spectacular Glacier Garden.

A couple of minutes walk from Cavaglia is the extraordinary glacier garden "Marmitte dei Giganti", with its huge glacial potholes and the path in the gorge of the Orrido di Cavaglia.

Viewpoint Valposchiavo

Alp Grüm

Alp Grüm is located at 2,091 m above sea level, along the bank of the first slope of the Valposchiavo. From this point you can enjoy an unmistakable view over the entire Valposchiavo, which extends to neighboring Italy. In 1910 the Bernina Line of the Rhaetian Railway was built there. The station building is built of stone ashlars and is also a restaurant and hotel. It opened in 1926.
