The Silsersee is indeed circled, but not comfortably along the lakeshore; rather, it goes up to Lägh da Lunghin at 2484 m above sea level. A bit higher, there is the triple watershed.

Description
At Sils Baselgia you start the circular route and run along the calm, turquoise water of the Silsersee. After following the shore of the picturesque lake to the other end, you cross the road by the first houses of Maloja and leave the lake. Now begins the rocky trail up to Lägh dal Lunghin (2484 meters). Around the lake, you are offered a magnificent Alpine panorama with Piz Lunghin, Piz Grevasalvas, and even higher snow-covered peaks in the distance that form the border to Italy: Piz Roseg, Piz Fedoz, Cima di Rosso and Cima di Castello.
On the way back, the trail is initially a bit rough until you pass the small village of Grevasalvas, where the charming stone and wooden houses invite you to take a break and lose track of time. Although the village is a slight detour, the few meters you have to climb back up to the trail afterward are well worth it. The further descent follows the Via Engiadina, a gentle, unpaved single trail down to the sparkling water of the Silsersee.
