Via Mundaun: Etappe 1

After about two hours, the Wali mountain restaurant is reached. The sunny terrace invites you to relax, including a view of the Obersaxen Mundaun ski area and a large portion of Graubünden hospitality. Strengthened, you tackle the last ascent of the day: In the middle of the white winter world - between two ski lifts, but still away from the hustle and bustle - you reach the height of the Kartitscha mountain station.

Here the slope is crossed, the view of the striking Piz Mundaun opens up. The summit not only gives the long-distance hike its name, but also accompanies the route over all three stages. This is also where the descent begins: The path winds past Untermatt and then down to Meierhof, the main town of the municipality of Obersaxen Mundaun.

Silence instead of hectic, nature instead of performance. That's what makes the Via Mundaun so special. It is not a mass hike, but is suitable for all those who are looking for the real thing. It immerses you in a region that leaves room to take a deep breath and enjoy even in the high season. The three stages are easily doable for experienced winter hikers. If you like, you can have your luggage transported from hotel to hotel.

Day 1: Arrival and first stage

Arrival the day before: Overnight stay at the Hotel Central, Obersaxen.

Arrival on the day of the tour: Bus ride to Meierhof Post, where you can deposit your luggage at the Hotel Central. Then continue by bus to Obersaxen, Friggahüs.

Day 2: From Obersaxen to Vella

Luggage can be deposited at the Hotel Central and will be transported to one of the booked hotels in Vella (Lumnezia).

If luggage transport is desired, this must be registered directly with the Hotel Central.

⚠️ Important: A room reservation at Hotel Central does not include automatic luggage transport. This must be booked separately on request at the Hotel Central.

Cost: CHF 45.00 surcharge for luggage transport

Luggage transport is not possible on the following dates:

Day 3: Last Stage

Luggage can be deposited at the hotel in Vella and will be picked up again after the tour.

If you leave the following day, you can leave your luggage at the hotel and end your stay comfortably with an additional night.
