Waltensburg Master & Castles

The hike starts at the valley station in Brigels. From here you go up to the golf course. At the golf parking lot, turn right onto route 1. Follow the signs 1 or “Flanz”. The path leads you into the forest, where you have the opportunity to take a detour to the Flanz viewing platform. Back on the route, continue towards Waltensburg on route 1. Past Kropfenstein Castle (watch for the sign on the left side of the road), you reach the edge of the forest before the village of Waltensburg. Now you have 2 options. Straight ahead route 1 leads you to the end of the village with the castle ruins and the gallows hill Jörgenberg. However, after the fire pit, turn left and route 1 leads upwards, via the forest path “Schetga”, back to Brigels.
