Sardonagletscher

Piz Sardona is a 3,056 m high mountain on the border between the Swiss cantons of Glarus and St. Gallen. On the St. Gallen side is the Sardona Glacier, which flows into the Walsertal Calfeisen and then into the Tamina Valley. In addition to the Sardona Glacier, the Chli Glacier is also clearly visible. There is also a famous legend about the Sardona glacier. The once beautiful alp is said to have been covered with thick glacial ice as punishment by an unvirtuous shepherd who betrayed his own mother.
