Sardonagletscher

The Piz Sardona or more rarely Surenstock is a 3,056 m high mountain on the border between the Swiss cantons of Glarus and St. Gallen. On the St. Gallen side is the Sardonag Glacier, which flows into the Walsertal Calfeisen and then into the Tamina Valley. In addition to the Sardona glacier, the Chli glacier is also clearly visible.
There is also a famous legend about the Sardona glacier. The former beautiful alp is said to have been covered with thick glacial ice as punishment by a vicious shepherd who cheated on his own mother.
