Uaul da Sogn Carli / Escherwald, Morissen

A few centuries ago, the forest was overexploited in many places. The left-hand Val Lumnezia was not spared either. Later, the protection of mountain forests and their reforestation became an issue. About 150 years ago, the reforestation of the Uaul da Sogn Cali, the Escher Forest, took place. On the boulder above the niche of the saint there is a memorial plaque in honour of Arnold Escher von der Linth, the patron of the Sgon Carli forest.

The Escherwald has the character of a forest planted in rows and rows. If you look closely, you will discover an extraordinary number of forked trees, so-called Zwiesel trees, which draw attention to a large irritating zone. If mechanical influences are missing, the ambiguity tells of fault zones that the tree tries to avoid. The energy flow in the V-fork is particularly high.
