Event Surselva
Affresco - Paint your own fresco in Waltensburg

Description
In fresco, pigments and plaster form a unit, as the colours are applied to the still wet plaster. In our one-day course you will realize your own fresco. You can take the picture home with you at the end. Be careful: it is still very "fresco" and needs to harden for a few days.
Of course, we also take a close look at the original, 700-year-old frescoes in the church of Waltensburg/Vuorz for their painting technique. The restorer Francesco Wiesner knows the secrets and effects of the various pigments he teaches in the course from his own practice.
Francesco Wiesner was born and raised in Chiavenna. In Italy, he attended the Liceo Artistico, after which he studied conservation and restoration at SUPSI in Lugano. Since 2019, he has been working independently as a restorer-conservator.
