Art Exhibition :: THE ART OF PEACEBUILDING - Bombart / Lara Lone

Imagine a child painting a sunrise with a paintbrush, while for a brief moment he is allowed to block out the vivid images of his everyday life in a war zone and instead experience a state of joy and childlike light-heartedness. This is exactly what Bombart is about.

This February, from February 5 to 22, 2026, Bombart will transform the Riders Hotel in Laax into a place where peace can not only be imagined, but experienced. In collaboration with the hotel, we are presenting 'The Art of Peacebuilding' - our first curated exhibition in Switzerland. The works on display come from our creative workshops with traumatized children and young people from Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir - regions where, despite daily tensions, people have never stopped dreaming of a better future.

Bombart is young, but fearless. Born in Graubünden, we have already overcome borders and barriers:
Last May, we implemented workshops in Jammu and Kashmir in the midst of armed conflict. Against all odds, the young artists painted, laughed and recaptured their childhood - if only for a moment. These pictures are now emerging from the shadows of the conflict into the bright spotlight of Laax.
But this exhibition is much more than an art exhibition: it is a cultural meeting place where art, dialog and community come together - in the middle of the peak winter season, with thousands of guests from all over the world as witnesses.
