Event Engadin Samnaun Val Müstair
Durchquerung des Schweizer Nationalparks / 4 Tage

Description
daily
Day 1
Starting in Val Mingèr, we hike steadily uphill and listen to the bellowing of the deer bulls. With a bit of luck we can observe one or the other animal. From the Sur il Fos crossing (2317m) we already have our destination for the day, the Fuorcla Val da Botsch (2677m) in mind. On the descent to the Ofen Pass road, we can observe chamois on the steep flanks. It is always worth taking a look at the sky, because not far from here the first bearded vultures were reintroduced in 1991. At the Hotel Fuorn we have a really good culinary experience.
Hiking time: 7 h Ascent: 1,100 m Descent: 1000 m Distance: 13 km
Day 2
Freshly strengthened from the rich breakfast, the bus takes us a bit down into the valley. After a short descent to the Spöl, the steep path up to Fuorcla Murter (2545m) begins. The species-rich forest is becoming increasingly sparse. Once at the top, we enjoy the magnificent view, which reaches as far as the Ortler massif. Elated, we tackle the descent towards the Cluozzahütte (1882m). We have time to watch the voracious marmots. Soon we reach our camp for the night. Here, too, the insistent call of the deer can be heard.
Hiking time: 5.5 h Ascent: 900 m Descent: 800 m Distance: 6 km
Day 3
We start the day well rested. Soon the landscape changes and we only see stones. We hike on a rock glacier whose movements have been studied for decades. Shortly before the Fuorcla Val Sassa (2856m), our concentration is required in the alpine terrain. Finally, we are rewarded by the far-reaching view to Piz Bernina. Out of the valley we still have a few steep passages and a scramble to master. Arriving in the Varusch multi-storey car park (1771m), we are looking forward to a cosy evening.
Hiking time: 7 h Ascent: 1,000 m Descent: 1,200 m Distance: 13 km
Day 4
Today we start the last stage and listen to the calls of the deer bulls again early in the morning. Arriving at Alp Trupchun (2043m), we can watch the spectacle well. Finally, the path becomes increasingly alpine and we reach Fuorcla Trupchun (2780m) over steep scree fields. With a bit of luck we will see ibex. In the descent through the lonely Valle dei Saliente we enjoy the seclusion again. Arriving in the Alpine metropolis of Livingo (1835m), the post bus takes us back to Zernez and on our journey home.
Hiking time: 7 h Ascent: 1,200 m Descent: 1,100 m Distance: 13 km
