On Thursday, 03.07.2025 at 7 p.m., the Kulturplatz Davos invites you to the vernissage on the topic of "Constructive Alps. Building for the climate".

In cooperation with the Alpine Museum of Switzerland, 20 steles will be exhibited on Arkadenplatz, on which the various aspects of sustainable architecture will be shown: natural materials, durability, positive energy balance, frugality and care in dealing with the landscape.

District Administrator Ladina Alioth will give a welcome address and Barbara Keller, Deputy Director of the Alpine Museum of Switzerland, will guide through the exhibition.



Constructive Alps – The Architecture Prize

With the architecture prize "Constructive Alps. Sustainable renovation and construction in the Alps", the Federal Office for Spatial Development of Switzerland (ARE) and the Office for the Environment of the Principality of Liechtenstein honour sustainable renovations and new buildings in the Alpine region every two years. This has been the case since 2011 with the aim of developing the Alps into a model region for climate protection in line with the Alpine Convention.



Constructive Alps. Building for the climate – the exhibition

In cooperation with the Federal Office for Spatial Development, the Alpine Museum of Switzerland has designed an exhibition on the topic of "Building for the Climate". The effects of climate change are significantly noticeable in the Alpine region. At the same time, awareness among the population of climate-friendly action has increased in recent years. But while the possibilities for action in mobility and nutrition are known, there is still a lack of awareness in construction and housing.

The exhibition aims to show that when building and renovating buildings, decisions are made that have an influence on CO2 emissions and the sustainable use of resources in many ways. It shows various aspects of sustainable architecture: natural materials, durability, positive energy balance, frugality and care in dealing with the landscape. This makes it clear how comprehensively sustainable architecture takes into account the needs of people and the environment.
