Festa Barocca Val Müstair - A charity day for the Tschierv organ

From an organ tour to a baroque horse show and a festive concert: there's something for everyone!
Val Müstair has some very beautiful and valuable organs in its churches. The spectrum ranges from the early baroque, historically preserved instrument in Valchava to the romantically arranged large organ in Sta. Maria. In the reformed church of Tschierv there is an instrument that was built in 1807 by organ builder Josef Fuchs, Innsbruck, and originally stood in S-chanf. This interesting instrument is now due for an overhaul.

The FESTA BAROCCA is a one-day event that focuses on the cultural value of organs and offers the public a wide range of experiences in a variety of formats.
The day will start with a guided tour of the Tschierver organ, which was dismantled in the summer of 2025. There will be an opportunity to talk to the experts over lunch. At the short afternoon concert on the organ in Valchava, built in 1635, the audience will learn exciting facts about organ building and hear an instrument that is rare in Switzerland. There will also be an opportunity to get to know the original wind supply - by hand - for yourself!

A show of a special kind celebrates its premiere on this day: Baroque equestrian art in the form of a horse ballet with specialized riders from Europe are musically accompanied by the Orchestra Barocca Al Rom under the direction of Renate Stein-mann. The music comes from the French court of the 18th century - a suite from Rameau's famous opera "Les Indes Galantes" - and tells the story of courting around the world.

There will then be time to chat - including with the artists - over an aperitif riche in the garden of the Barlaina restaurant. The day ends with a festive concert in the church of Sta. Maria with the young South Tyrolean organist Lukas Punter, organist at the monastery church of Marienberg. A rich program with organ and orchestra will bring the day to a festive close.
We hope to be able to celebrate a cheerful and high-quality day with many participants!
