Führung Heiligkreuzkapelle zur Osterzeit

The Carolingian Holy Cross Chapel may only be visited on a guided tour. Today it stands somewhat apart, but was formerly integrated into the monastery complex. The chapel dates - like the monastery church - from the 8th century and thus from the time of Charlemagne.

Up to ten layers of painting and whitewashing once covered the walls of the Chapel of the Holy Cross. During the guided tour, you will gain an insight into the wall paintings from the different eras and learn more about the former precious furnishings of this chapel.

On Holy Saturday, April 4, 2026, we offer a guided tour at 10:45 a.m

On this day, there will also be a guided tour of the church and monastery museum at 2 p.m. If you take part in both tours (Church & Monastery Museum and Chapel of the Holy Cross), you will receive a reduced admission price. Ask at the monastery shop.
