LG NATUR #5: Katrin Keller – O

O refers to a hole, a blank space, an entrance, a zero point, a beginning or an end – perhaps also to a moment of amazement.
In the fifth edition of the LG Natur exhibition series, the focus is on the earth's interior. Katrin Keller is showing a new chapter in her series of works Reports from within, which began in 2023 – a speculative approach to the largely unexplored inner workings of the Earth. The installation in the tilde is based on photographs that were taken in connection with an upcoming rock stabilization. In doing so, she questions how humans deal with the geologically unstable basis of the Earth and the multi-layered dimensions of the underworld.

At the end of Katrin Keller's exhibition, the artist Vanessà Heer explores the interior of the earth with a sound journey. Vanessà Heer (1989, St.Gallen) is an interdisciplinary artist whose work includes live performances and installations.

Katrin Keller (1985, Herisau) lives in Lucerne. Studio scholarships have taken her to Belgrade (SRB) and Reykjavik (IS). The ground, as a fundamental, supposedly stable, but in fact constantly moving base, functions as a recurring motif in her current work. Her works consist of loosely connected snapshots of conceptual-intuitive research on the topics of instability, change, control and their loss.
