Theater Chur: Inszenierungseinblick zu «Der Besuch der alten Dame»

At the centre of the moderated discussion is the creation of the production of Dürrenmatt's classic "The Visit of the Old Lady" in a special scenic realisation: as a solo.
It is the story of a woman who goes from victim to perpetrator and a society with a moral problem. The story of young Klara Wäscher from the small town of Güllen, who - together with her boyfriend Alfred Ill - becomes pregnant. But he denies paternity, she leaves her homeland penniless and dishonored, and is forced into sex work. The child is taken from her and dies. In her old age, Klara returns and takes revenge on her former lover and the whole city with an incredible offer.

How did this production come about? What hurdles had to be overcome? What surprises were there in the multi-layered work process?
