Pizzeria Cosa Nostra

It all started with an idea: in 1995, the company “Cosa Nostra” opened a small pizza delivery service in the OMAG premises in Mels, covering just 55 square meters.

The equipment: a pizza oven, a table, a sink, a tiny office, a bar table, and a small car to deliver the pizzas.

The menu: 26 different pizzas and a few pasta dishes... that's all it took to meet the demand for traditionally made pizzas in the region. The initial idea was soon met with high demand. Ordering food to be delivered to your home quickly became a trend, and the demand to experience and enjoy “Italianita” on site also grew steadily. So, after only one year, in July 1996, Sangrigoli Senior and Junior decided to triple the size of the premises. The result was a pizzeria with 25 seats.

In January 2018, the time had come for “old to become new,” and in addition to the newly created pizzeria with 22 seats and takeaway at the rear of the premises, a trattoria with a further 25 seats was created in the front part, separated from the kitchen. The flair of the old walls of the OMAG building can still be felt. And even though the world is spinning faster and faster, family businesses still tick differently. It's not short-term profits that count, but building something and passing it on to future generations—that's what it's all about.
