Details
Description
From Obersee you head towards Maran, then continue to the Lower Prätschsee, Scheideggseeli, and finally the Upper Prätschsee. Beautiful paths then lead back to the village. This part of the 10-lake hike takes you past four of the lakes. At each lake, you will find a panel by the outflow providing information about the lake.
Obersee
The Obersee, located at 1,739 m above sea level, is the larger of the two lakes in the settlement area of Arosa. Numerous waterfowl, reed birds, diving ducks, and most European dabbling ducks can be observed at Obersee.
Lower Prätschsee
The Lower Prätschsee lies at 1,910 m above sea level, slightly below the Upper Prätschsee and somewhat hidden, but accessible via a narrow path.
Scheideggseeli
The Scheideggseeli is located at 2,080 m above sea level in an alpine pasture hollow in the alpine zone at Scheidegghalde. Occasionally wild ducks breed here, although the secluded water does not offer natural protection for their nests.
Upper Prätschsee
The Upper Prätschsee is located at 1,987 m above sea level, as the name suggests, in the Prätsch area. There is a fire pit with wood available for everyone at the lake.
Hidden Gem
The ascent to Hof Maran can also be reached by bus if needed.
