Show all 4 images

This route leads right across Graubünden and even further into Italy to the large Lake Como. The lake is characterized by its extremely mild, Mediterranean climate, which provides pleasantly warm days until late autumn, and its numerous small towns and villages scattered around the shore, which have retained their original Italian character to this day. A long journey that is also ideal for a 2-day excursion.

Description
The route begins in the unique Swiss mountains surrounded by green meadows and streams in Davos through all the small Walser settlements along the Landwasser to Filisur over the Julier Pass into the other high valley, the Engadin. The large silver lakes open up a wonderful view which you follow to Maloja over the Maloja Pass through Bergell to the border. After the border, the tour continues via Chiavenna to Menaggio on Lake Como. A small town with colorful houses and the finest ice cream.
Visitors are always fascinated by how Lake Como has managed to retain its original Italian charm over the years. The famous historic villas with their well-kept parks, which can be found all around Lake Como, play an important part in this. The sunny location also favors a surprising and exotic vegetation, which brings the "Dolce Vita flair" to life.
After Menaggio, you return to Switzerland via Lugano, from where the route leads via the Ticino cantonal capital of Bellinzona over the San Bernardino Pass into the Viamala Valley to Thusis. The Viamala is characterized by the equally named gorge. A unique natural experience, which people travel there today for the spectacular world of water and cliffs up to 300 meters high. The last few kilometers are completed via Thusis, Chur, Landquart through the Prättigau up to Davos.
