Alp Fursch Bike No. 478

To the west of the starting point Flums, the ruins of Gräpplang Castle sit enthroned on a hill. The route leads past the ruins and along a little-used side road via the hamlet of Fäsch to Bergheim. Now follow the mountain road to Tannenheim before finally turning left to Cafrida. The well-known skiing and hiking area Flumserberg has already been reached.
At Cafrida, follow the nature path, which later joins the mountain route to Prodalp. The Prodalp plateau with its beautiful high moor offers a magnificent view of the Sarganserland and the Churfirsten. The mountain restaurant has a large sun terrace and is the ideal opportunity for a stopover before continuing on the forest road to Panüöl.
In Panüöl, an impressive mountain panorama opens up and the onward journey to Alp Fursch is a real pleasure. The subsequent downhill through the Furschwald is challenging, especially in wet conditions. We continue along the Schilsbach, which is crossed at Bildbrugg. On a flowing forest trail you reach Portels and shortly afterwards you have reached Flums again.
