Short and hard! Although the Chapfenberg-Trail has a relatively short distance to cover, the trail is very tough. The ascent as well as the descent are short and heavy.

Description

The Outdoor Fitness Trails in the Heidiland holiday region comprise more than 30 uniformly signposted running routes from a total of 10 stations, making it one of the largest open-air fitness parks in the Alpine region. The Chapfenberg Trail is one of three running trails around the Weesen station.

The starting point for this 2.6 km long trail is the info point of the Weesen station at the Schifflände (423 m above sea level). The first section runs along the lake to the road that leads to Amden (428 m.a.s.l.). As soon as you cross the road and reach the last houses on the northern edge of the village, a steep climb on an agricultural path begins. This leads across meadows, through small deciduous forests and past streams to Salen (560 m above sea level). Once you reach the plateau, you have a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains and Lake Walen. After a short passage straight ahead, the trail turns left across a meadow in the direction of Chapfenberg. After the relatively short meadow passage, there is an equally short passage on a well-developed gravel path to Hundsiten. This is where the steep and technically demanding descent over hill and dale begins, in the middle of partly dense deciduous forest (beware of slipping in wet conditions!). The intermediate destination is a small clearing with a magnificent view of the surrounding vineyards, Lake Walen and the mountains. The technically difficult section is now behind you, because the trail leads up to the entrance to the village high above Weesen on a staircase. Back to the info point, the trail runs partly on cobblestone streets through the middle of picturesque alleys and alleys.

Geheimtipp
