We hike from the Palfries mountain station to the Hotel Kurhaus Sennis. Up to the former Kurhaus, there is the option to choose the hiking trail via Alp Malun or via Alp Castilu. From the Hotel Kurhaus Sennis, the descent or return path follows mainly natural roads and hiking trails to the Palfries valley station.
Details
Description
We start the hike at the Palfries mountain station. With the Palfries cable car, we have previously overcome about 1,250 meters in elevation in just 12 minutes. The cable car passes over an impressive waterfall (Ragnatscher Bach) and brings us up to the Palfries high plateau.
Unlike the other descent options to the valley station, this variant is less strenuous, although it does not seem so at first glance considering the time required. From the mountain station we hike to the Palfries mountain inn, where we have two hiking options. For the route via Alp Malun, we take the path towards Alvier. For the Alp Castilu variant, we follow the path towards the Stralrüfi mountain restaurant. Both routes lead to Hotel Kurhaus Sennis. From there, it continues mainly over natural roads and hiking trails back to the valley station.

Directions
The hikes to Kurhaus Sennis are described in the following hikes:
- Sennis circular route, via Malun
 - Sennis circular route, via Castilu

From Kurhaus Sennis, the hiking trail leads us downwards on a natural road through open and forested terrain. Shortly after the 1000 meter long flat stretch of road, the hiking signpost (after the curve) directs us onto the former, very steep access road. This joins the asphalt road again, which we follow for about 600 meters. We leave the road again and move on the original mule track. One last time, we meet the asphalt road, which we follow for 300 meters. On the right side of the road, the hiking signpost points left, where the hike continues on a natural road towards Valaschga. Once in the forest, it goes downhill through a narrow passage until we reach the asphalt road. Then it goes left through shady forest with a slight downhill slope. At the height of the Poli estate, the hiking trail turns left and leads over the bridge of the Hagerbach. To avoid ending up on the main road, we need to pay close attention to the signposting on site (large square); in particular, the path over the dam should not be chosen. Once we come out of the forest, we can already see the Palfries cable car.
