At the beginning, the hike with great views leads to the valley floor to Rueun.  Here you also walk past the entrance to the Minas da Gulatsch. A detour to the former mining mines is always worthwhile, as the path is also equipped with children's stations. A well-developed, mostly flat dirt road continues to Ilanz. Rueun is home to the oldest wooden bridge in the canton of Graubünden – it is also one of the oldest in Europe. If you want to visit it, however, you have to make a detour to the train station in Rueun. In Rueun, the path leads along the road into the village, here turn into Via Principala (turn right towards Schnaus). At the church in the village of Rueun, the circular path leads off to the left (between the houses). Note that the signpost is a bit hidden. After Rueun, you have the option of walking a partial route on the historic "Via Suvorov" or taking the small detour through the village of Schnaus. Shortly before Schnaus and the historic site of the Giger brothers, there is a forest nature trail. It is worth allowing a little more time for this and visiting the Gigerseeli and the old water wheel.

Take your time for a detour to the Minas da Gulatsch. From the junction at Panixerstrasse, a 2 km long path follows to the caves. Allow about 2 hours (there and back) for this. At least it also has a covered rest area.

A visit to the historic workshop in Schnaus is worthwhile. Please note the opening hours: Historische Werkstatt Giger

After Rueun, part of the circular route can be hiked on the historic "Via Suworow" and in Schnaus it is worth taking a detour through the forest nature trail with the Gigerseeli at the historic site of the Giger brothers.
