Description

Three beautiful lakes present themselves along this challenging but unforgettable trail loop from Disentis to Bugnei – which can also be shortened by a few (descent) meters with the help of the cable car to Caischavedra or on the Cuolm da Vi. For the way back, the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn is waiting, which runs hourly from Bugnei to Disentis – and before that, the Bogn Sedrun beckons for recreation.

The trail for ambitious runners is almost 24 kilometers long and has almost 1400 meters of altitude difference and starts at the monastery in Disentis. First, the route follows the hiking and driving trails to Alp Lumpegna, then follows the marked but partly pathless ascent to the highest point of the round in the Foppas area with 2550 meters. There are several trail variants here, before after a short descent the Lag Brit invites you to a first break – and for the intrepid to a refreshing bath. The biggest difficulties of the round have already been completed so far. On panoramic paths high above Disentis and with dream views of the glacier world of the Piz Medel we continue past the Lag Crest Ault [in midsummer sometimes little water] and Lag Serein. Continue at some distance past the mountain station of the Cable Car Caischavedra and on the Senda Pauli through blue meadows and clear forest in the direction of Bostg. At the latest here is time for another break to enjoy the view in peace, then the final descent to Bugnei awaits.

Option 1: Small round and back in Caischavedra by cable car

Option 2: From Bostg over a white-blue ridge path to the Cuolm da Vi mountain station and descent by cable car to Sedrun.

Geheimtipp

Take your bathing suit: Jump into the Lag Brit on a hot summer day – priceless.
