Details

Description

The hike starts in Weisstannen. The trail leads along the Gufelbach stream to the impressive Batöni waterfall arena. Once we reach the place of power, we hike along the Lavtina stream up to the saddle. Here there is a phenomenal view of the turquoise-colored Wildsee lake. From there, it is only a few meters up to the summit. From the Hochwart, there is an impressive view of the Schottensee, the Schwarzplangg, the Pizol summit and the Gaffara Valley, where up to 600 sheep graze in the summer months. There is also an impressive panoramic view over the St. Gallen Rhine Valley as far as Lake Constance.

Hidden Gem

Can you see the shape of the glacier back then? Enjoy the panorama and let yourself be enchanted by the time.

Equipment

Day hiking backpack, sturdy and comfortable shoes, weather-appropriate and hard-wearing clothing in multiple layers, telescopic poles if necessary, sun and rain protection, provisions and drinking water, first aid kit, pocket knife, cell phone, headlamp if necessary, maps

Directions

From Weisstannen, walk along the Gufelbach stream to Batöni, to the impressive waterfall arena with its three mighty waterfalls. The Kraftort trail leads along the lively stream slightly uphill into the forest over pastures to two large stones, which look like a mighty double stone as they are close together. The trail continues to the Batöni waterfall arena. From left to right, we have the Piltschinabach Falls, the Sässbach Falls and the Muttenbach Falls in front of us, which are 81, 86 and 45 meters long respectively. At the waterfalls, turn left up towards Stofel. The path leads along the Lavtina stream up to the Lavtina saddle. Now it is only a few steps to the Hochwart.
