Description

From Maloja it goes down about 300 m to the village of Casaccia. From Casaccia it continues flat, partly with strong headwinds but with all the more beautiful views of the imposing Albigna dam to Vicosoprano. In Vicosoprano we recommend the drive through the historic village before continuing to Stampa. At the exit of Stampa, the hometown of the famous artist family Giacometti, you pass the red stone palace, the Palazzo Castelmur, on the right and continue under two kissing stones to the next historic village, Promontogno. From Promontogno it goes in a few but mostly very sunny curves almost 200 m up before the destination Soglio - threshold of paradise - is reached. From Soglio you can return via the same road, this time peppered with a total of just over 800 meters of altitude to the starting point Maloja.

Geheimtipp

In Vicosoprano, Promontogno and Soglio there are shops, in Soglio it is worth stopping for lunch or coffee and cake on one of the three sun terraces.

Sicherheitshinweis

In the summer high season, due to the high volume of traffic and the tight curves between Casaccia and Maloja, driving is only recommended early in the morning and in the evening.
